    What’s In My Amazon Box?

This post contains affiliate links. If you click on a link I may receive a commission.    I apologize if you are going through withdrawal without any posts, but it’s tax season over here. So let’s talk Amazon.   Who doesn’t love when UPS stops by the office with a box? I love it. It’s like Christmas…..maybe that is what makes online shopping so intriguing. As a busy mom of four, I like to use Amazon and other variety of online stores to do my shopping. I don’t have to load everyone up and most of the time can get the same deals online as in the store! So here…

    Anxiety Induced Infertility

I need to digress from foster care for a while, so I will answer the question everyone wants to know……was Jett an in vitro baby? There were many years I felt alone when it came to kids and sex. There was something in this area that just wasn’t right about me. My friends talked about how they loved sex…their honeymoons were hottt (yes with the triple “t'”), and marriage was invigorating. There had to be something wrong with me. Why at twenty-something was I experiencing the complete opposite?   Truth Bomb. I think it all started on our honeymoon. Sex wasn’t what I expected it to be, and I’m sure…

Why I Send my Kids to a Public Daycare

Child care.  We could all play the mom guilt card on this subject.  I have no mom guilt in being a working mom.  None.  I have no mom guilt sending me kids to a public daycare…..yes a public city daycare.  I am not sure why people are so concerned about where I send my kids because it’s a personal choice that I make. Public daycare’s aren’t perfect and there are things I wish could be done better, but it fits my work and my life and my kids.  So take this all you eye rollers at public daycare that make me feel like a terrible mom. (And by no means…

    This is Our Christmas Card

Aaahh, Christmas cards. You know those things that are made by creative good moms. All of them are so well done. I have two stacks….the moms who made the “cute” Christmas card and the ones that made the “overachiever” Christmas Card….you know who you are! What is the “overachiever” card you ask? They are the ones with the two page letter about their family in addition to the Christmas card! (No guilt trip here for those of you that do it! Kudos to you!) I have no clue how anyone finds time to first of all make the card, order the right amount of cards, address the cards, mail the…

    F.A.B.ulous Beginnings

My blog name is clever right? I am a Foster, Adoptive, and Biological Mama.   Oddly enough that is the order they occurred in my mom journey, which is backwards to most people.  The acronym could stand for “FABulous Mama” which definitely doesn’t describe me, but I think we all desire to be that “FABULOUS” or “FAB” mom right?   Don’t we all get up each morning and tell ourselves we are going to be a better mom and wife by yelling less, laughing more, and feeling confident about ourselves?  The problem for me is that it takes approximately sixty three minutes and four **itty diapers in a particular morning for “Fabulous”…

    MOM-ing Backwards

I became a mom “backwards” and I am not ashamed of it.  The thing about MOM-ing backwards is that you can’t explain yourself in a minute.  I can’t quickly give an expected answer to most people’s questions without telling a fib.  If I tell the whole story instead of fibbing, the conversation turns into a chapter book and who has time for that. I have learned that if you want to mom “backwards” you will need a sense of humor.  I will warn you that there are lots of questions to answer either because your life is intriguing to others or because they are trying to reason through your “backwards”…
